Stroll through the award-winning Kona Coffee Living History Farm that tells the story of Konas coffee pioneers during the years 1926-1945. It is Americas only living history coffee farm where you may talk story with costumed historians and discover the history behind Konas gourmet crop. You wont leave this place without feeling you have experienced a rare glimpse into Hawai`is colorful past.

Hamakua Mushroom Tour

Our mushroom facility is a state-of-the-art, environmentally controlled, 16,000 sq. ft. production facility located in Laupahoehoe on the Big Island of Hawaii. Our facility is equipped with automated specialty mushroom cultivation equipment, our own sterile tissue culture laboratory and six indoor growing rooms; making it possible for us to produce a variety of species. We pride ourselves in producing mushrooms of exceptional quality.

Vanilla Experience Luncheon & Farm Tour. Hawaiian Vanilla Company is proud to say that they were the first commercial growers in the US. But being the first is not always the easiest. Their search to grow the finest quality vanilla in the world has taken them to the birth place of Vanilla, Mexico, into the rain forest of Micronesia, to the impoverish country of Haiti and to the highest technology in Vanilla research at Rutgers University. Their goal is to cultivate the best Vanilla in the world and provide the finest vanilla related product including vanilla coffee, beans & more. Twilight at Kalahuipua`a - Talk Story

Every month when the full moon rises, Mauna Lani gets ready for an evening of storytelling and entertainment at the oceanfront Eva Parker Woods Cottage. "Twilight at Kalahuipua'a" was designed to perpetuate the traditional folk art of storytelling. Everyone is invited to share stories, family histories, songs and dance. It gives visitors a chance to experience the true aloha spirit, and residents the opportunity to meet and share stories with people from around the world. The Eva Parker Woods Cottage houses historical information about Kalahuipuaa, the land now called Mauna Lani. This oceanfront location marks the piko (spiritual center) of the resort's ancient Hawaiian fishponds, making it the perfect venue for this full moon event. Hawaii residents and visitors are invited to enjoy Twilight at Kalahuipuaa, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm on the Saturday closest to the full moon. June 18 July 16 August 20 September 17 October 15 November 12 December 10 Bring chairs or a blanket, seating is limited. Enjoy the evening with a picnic dinner or pupus. Don't forget a light jacket or sweater it does get chilly under the stars

Hawaiian Tropical Botanical Gardens

The Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is a museum of living plants that attracts photographers, gardeners, botanists, scientists, and nature lovers from around the world. The Garden's collection of tropical plants is international in scope. Over 2,000 species, representing more than 125 families and 750 genera, are found in this one-of-a-kind garden. The 40-acre valley is a natural greenhouse, protected from buffeting tradewinds and blessed with fertile volcanic soil. Throughout this garden valley, nature trails meander through a true tropical rainforest, crossing bubbling streams, passing several beautiful waterfalls and the exciting ocean vistas along the rugged Pacific coast. The Garden is open from 9am to 5pm everyday, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, with Garden admissions ending at 4pm. This self-guided tour takes an average of about an hour and a half. The walking distance is just over a mile, round trip. Admission for a day is $15 for adults, children ages 6 - 16 are $5. Children under 6 are free.
